Cross Country (Nordic) Ski X-C and Snowshoeing Conditions, Southern Vermont, Putney...

Snowshoeing Conditions Were Excellent Sunday, January 9, 2005
Cross Country Ski Trails Were Last Groomed Monday, January 10, 2005
Not Much Weather since then... one to two inches of snow on Sunday (1/16) with some more on the way

Update. The ground is crunchy. Debbie called to ask if the kids could ski in the meadow... we asked "on what?' and she laughed and said, "well at least we have more sdnow than a lot of other places," which is true. Miriam and I were out on snowshoes. A couple in their twenties hiked up Putney Mountain in ten degree weather and said it was cold but beautifiul up there... looking out on the Connecticut River Valley, to Monadnock and northwest to Mount Snow. Feels like a cold snap coming on, and the forecast calls for more snow. Sam called to ask how snowshoeing was. We told him to call again at the end of January... why disappoint anybody? Still, it's beautiful out there.
